The year 2025 was, in many ways, historic and successful for Calefa. Robust product development in both heat and steam production has laid a solid foundation for continued future growth.
Calefa’s Revenue Rose by 15 Percent
In 2025, the energy and heating market continued to be driven by the electrification of heat production, no combustion-based energy solutions, and the utilization of waste heat.
“Right now, solutions that can improve companies’ competitiveness and cost efficiency are particularly valued,” says Calefa’s CEO, Petri Vuori.
In this field, Calefa’s turnkey heat pump plants performed exceptionally well in 2025. The company’s revenue reached EUR 12.5 million, marking a 15 percent increase compared to 2024.
“Our products have clearly delivered significant benefits to customers, which is why they have invested in them even amid a tougher economic climate,” Vuori explains.
He finds it especially important that the company has achieved growth across all business areas. As the size and output of the heat pump plants have increased, the company has also expanded its workforce with new expertise.
“New recruitments will certainly follow as growth continues into 2026,” Vuori adds.
AmbiSteam Solution Opened New Doors in the Industrial Market
The year 2025 was not only a period of solid growth for Calefa, but also one of major changes. Evli Private Capital, part of the Evli Group, made a EUR 7 million private equity investment in the spring, bringing new tools for building growth and strengthening the company’s board.
“Evli’s investment has been one of the big changes this year, and we are extremely pleased with how well the cooperation has started,” says Vuori.
Significant progress has also been made in Calefa’s product development. Among the most notable achievements are heat pumps capable of reaching even higher temperatures and the introduction of a new energy form: steam.
“With our AmbiSteam solution, it is already possible to produce over 5-bar steam emissionfree. This is one of the biggest achievements of 2025,” Vuori states.
In 2026, product development will focus, amongst other things, on advancing the company’s test facility. It will enable all heat pumps to be tested directly at the factory, improving testing readiness and operational capability.
Heat Pump City of the Year Award – One of the Highlights of 2025
One of the year’s accomplishments includes utilizing various waste heat sources in diverse reference projects, where, for example, wastewater and data center waste heat have been upgraded into district heating networks.
In addition to commissioning heat pump plants for customers such as Neve, Kotkan Energia, MinersLoop, and KSS Energia, the company’s trophy shelf also gained new recognition.
The Savon Voima Joensuu heat pump plant, an installation unique in Europe, was awarded the EHPA Heat Pump City of the Year prize in Brussels in September.
“Located in Savon Voima’s Joensuu power plant, the AmbiHeat heat pump facility utilizes surplus heat from the flue gas scrubber along with river water heat. The Heat Pump City of the Year award for Savon Voima’s AmbiHeat plant is one of the highlights of the year,” Vuori notes.
Vuori also extends his thanks to customers for their trust, partners for their collaboration, and the entire Calefa team for their commitment and professionalism.
“Strong growth like this doesn’t come solely from technology. It’s built on day-to-day work and the desire to solve customer needs,” he concludes.
Making Heat Pumps the New Normal of Steam Production
Calefa’s focus remains firmly on the present year and the future. The goal is to continue building growth responsibly and profitably while continuously developing products and solutions.
According to Vuori, standardized and repeatable heat pump plants capable of producing both heat and steam will play a significant role in the company’s future growth.
The utilization of AmbiSteam solutions in various industrial applications will even open many new opportunities for Calefa’s technologies.
“Just as heat produced by heat pumps has become an everyday standard, we now aim to make steam the new normal in industrial heat pump solutions,” Vuori says.
